Meine Frau, Sohn und ich verbrachten einige unvergessliche Tage in den Highlands von Schottland, die wir in einem VW Wohnwagen von Craig bereisten. Alles war perfekt und ging reibungslos: die Buchung über seine Internetseite, die Übergabe des Fahrzeuges mit Einweisung, die Fahrt selbst, die Ausstattung sowie Rückgabe. Wir erlebten 4 Jahreszeiten während eines Tages! Was die Kälte betrifft, so hatten wir keine Probleme, denn die Heizung sprang gleich an.
Hervorheben möchten wir besonders die sehr sympathische und personalisierte Einweisung: nach der Buchung erhielten wir von Craig ein kurzes Video, in dem er den Wohnwagen vorstellte. Bei der Übergabe hatten wir somit ein gewisses Vorwissen und konnten seiner Anleitung schnell folgen und vorherige Fragen gleich abklären. Ich mochte das sehr! Ebenfalls mochten wir die Rückfrage von Craig nach der ersten Nacht wie wir mit allem zurechtgekommen sind sowie seine Zusicherung, dass wir ihn jederzeit kontaktieren konnten.

Freedom Campervans were absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend them. I was gifted a voucher for my birthday and used it to take my friend and her wee boy to the East Neuk of Fife for a weekend in March 2024. Craig and Jim were so helpful, right from the moment we first got in touch. It was easy to book dates, Craig sent over really informative videos that helped me feel prepared ahead of time, and he was always at the other end of the phone if I had any questions. I was a little nervous because this would be my first time driving a campervan, but they made it so simple and really put me at ease. The van was gorgeous, it drives better than my own car, and now I'm completely hooked and will be holidaying in campervans for the foreseeable. I can't wait to venture further afield and do some more remote camping. If you were considering a campervan company but felt unsure in any way, I can assure you, this is the caring company to go with.

Could not recommend hiring a van from Craig enough!!
My friend and I hired ‘Mindy’ for the night and camped in Glencoe. Craig was super helpful and even tracked the activity of the Northern Lights for us.
The van had everything you could think of from camping chairs to an oven.

Nous avons loué un van à Craig début juillet cette année, c’était une grande première pour nous et tous s’est passé à merveille. Craig nous a accompagné dès le départ par message whats app, nous apportant toutes les informations nécessaires à un séjour réussi. Même pendant le séjour avec de super conseil. Nous avons eu de très bons échanges également par e-mail. Craig nous a mis en confiance rapidement. J’avais quelques réticences sur le paiement de la caution par virement en avance j’ai fait confiance et j’ai eu raison, aucune raison de douter. Tout est carré et honnêteté . Le voyage en lui même une vraie aventure, un van confort 4 étoiles, avec tout ce qu’il faut pour se sentir bien. Le véhicule est maniable, très sûr et nous avons eu un pincement au cœur de le quitter. Je recommande fortement Craig et sa flotte de van pour votre aventure en Ecosse. Si nous revenons nous referons appel aux services de Craig les yeux fermés.

I rented a campervan from Craig for a month and I had the best time! Communication with Craig was excellent from the start, very friendly, helpful and open-minded about my plans. And throughout the trip, he was only one text message away. If I needed his help, just had a question or needed advice, he was more than happy to help out. To be honest, I had a tiny accident and damaged the side wing mirror. And even though it was a bank holiday weekend Craig went above and beyond to get it fixed as fast as possible to get me on the road again. And in this situation as well, Craig’s response and help were amazing.
It was my second time coming to Scotland, but my first time ever in a campervan. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! It was such an amazing experience all together. The freedom of driving around and finding a good place to spend the night somewhere and just waking up in the most beautiful and remote places, yet still having the comforts of home, is absolutely wonderful. I and the campervan went to Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Glenfinnan, Isle of Mull, Skye, South Uist, North Uist, Harris and Lewis together. I also finished the NC500, went to Loch Ness and did a little bit of Cairngorms National Park. With the campervan, I covered a lot of miles and I really do believe I got to see the best parts of Scotland and experience the beauty of this country in the best way possible. I definitely want to visit Scotland again and would not want to do it any other way. And yes, after having a home on wheels for 31 days I cried a little when it was time to give back the keys.

Wonderful... Le lieu de récupération du véhicule est un peu à l'écart des grands axes de circulation, tout en étant facilement accessible depuis le centre... Il permet de quitter rapidement Glasgow et de rejoindre facilement les axes des destinations principales... Les vérifications d'usage furent rapides et efficaces ; le Campervan VW étant dans un état impeccable. Craig est très réactif et se tient à votre disposition durant l'ensemble du voyage, pour assistance et conseils...

Nous avons passé un super séjour avec le van de Craig ! Il est de bonne taille pour passer partout et offre un bon confort pour quelques jours. Nous avons pu explorer l'Ecosse confortablement. Nous avons dormi une nuit sur deux en camping, pour profiter des douches et recharger le van. Le camping sauvage en Écosse est autorisé et facile, un vrai bonheur ! Craig a été très flexible sur les horaires pour récupérer le van et le rendre. Il a aussi été très serviable (il est venu nous chercher et nous a posé à la station de bus au retour, un vrai gain de temps et d'énergie !! Merci encore !). Il nous a aussi donné plein de super conseils avant le départ et a été très disponible dès que nous avions besoin pendant le voyage. Je recommande les yeux fermés la location de ce van pour quelques jours (max 6 jours je pense).

From picking us up from the airport, walking us through all the ins and outs of vanlife, and making incredible suggestions of places to go and routes to take (or avoid), Craig goes above and beyond to ensure your campervan experience will be one of pure enjoyment! The thoughtful outfitting and included items in the van are an extension of Craig's knowledge and expertise with both camping and Scotland, and he is always ready to put both at your disposal at any time. Question while out on the road? Simply drop a message and you'll have a detailed answer post haste. Looking for the best scenic drive or something fun to try? He'll have loads of suggestions suitable for anyone's tastes. As someone with food allergies that make eating out difficult, I so appreciated the fully equipped kitchen in the van so I could cook all of our meals - the fridge is surprisingly capacious, the stove performed flawlessly, and the included pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and cutlery made it nearly as easy as working in my own kitchen. The main bed was quite comfortable for two adults (he's 6' ~200lbs, I'm 5'8" ~150lbs, so not small people) while we ice climbed, summited Ben Nevis and Am Basteir, went sea kayaking at Arisaig, and explored Steall Falls, the Old Man of Storr, the West Highland and National Museums, and climbed up to Arthur's Seat. The provided bedding was so delightfully cozy that we never needed to use the heater, even on chill, windy nights on Skye. Of course having our transport, accommodations, and cooking facilities all in one also made for a very economical way to see Scotland when coming from overseas (versus hotels and either rail or bus transport, or hiring a car), and we loved having the ability to just pull off the road and whip up a quick meal or have a bit of a nap, and the ability to be self-sufficient while wild camping in the stunning vistas of the Highlands was something we'll never forget! I would absolutely recommend a campervan as a wonderful way to explore this stunning country, and wouldn't even dream of hiring a van from anyone but Craig. You'll never find more thorough and thoughtful service anywhere!

Amazing campervan trip in Scotland
A great recommendation from Friends, we had the best trip around the west coast of Scotland all thanks to Craig & his camper!
Before we picked up the campervan Craig had sent us a video of inside the camper and how it all works, Super helpful for us first timers.
When we collected the camper, Craig ran through everything again and made sure he was happy we would treat the camper like our own and take good care of it! We were so excited for our adventure to begin!
The Camper itself is clean Comfortable & practical, We made use of everything it had we found it was really well equipped, the pop up bed on the roof was amazing for hearing the owls and seeing the stars - a thin mattress so take padding if you plan on sleeping up there!
Craig suggested setting what’s app group for the trip which was really good, he suggested some amazing routes to take & places to see to help us get the most out of.
Off we went on the trip of a lifetime around the Scottish Highlands. We explored lots of beautiful places and what’s fantastic about this sort of trip is the flexibility you have with where you are on any given day. We spent half our nights on the roadside and few nights on campsites.
The places we explored -
Glencoe - stunning, three sisters walk is tough but worth the views of glencoe and Ben Nevis
Glenfinnan viaduct - great views of the Loch, the viaduct bridge from Harry Potter movie worth a trip to
Oban - fantastic distillery, great seafood and a good place to get some whisky
Inveraray - pretty castle and grounds, lovely town for souvenirs, cake and ice cream
The Coylet Inn - amazing pub on the Loch, stayed in the car park for one night,super friendly, lovely food & scenery
Dunure beach and castle - amazing views of Arran and we got a lovely sunset
Culzean Castle - great for a day visit, lovely gardens and a coastal beach walk
Galloway forest, Glen Trool - dark sky park amazing for star gazing. Lovely place for walks lots to choose from ( we did a 15 mile hike around the loch which was well worth it)

“First visit to Scotland, certainly not the last!”
An overall great experience. Even though this was our first-time vacation with a campervan, Craig helped us through the whole experience and made us feel at home in his van from day one. Everything needed for a great week on the road is provided, and the van is the perfect size to still explore remote and small streets that a bigger car would have trouble navigating.
We highly recommend Craig and his freedom campervans to anyone who wants to be free to go wherever they please to explore Scotland.

From the initial inquiry through to handing the van back the experience with Craig was excellent! The attention to detail in the documents provided when my booking was made to a video walk-through and explanation put me at ease knowing that I could easily refer to them if I had a query or wanted to double-check something. Craig also made himself available for calls or messages which added to my feeling completely reassured that although I was on my own in the van I would be able to get some assistance should I need it.
Although it rained most days on my trip to Wales the van was always warm and comfortable plus there is plenty of room for all the kit I had. The bonus of using the rear door as a shield meant it was easy to change out of wet and muddy gear without the worry of messing up the van.
From start to end the experience Craig gives is really personal and the van itself is a great way to travel and have the flexibility to visit as many places as well as adjust plans along the way.
I'd highly recommend a campervan trip and especially using Freedom Campervans.

Je pense que le voyage en solitaire ne devrait effrayer personne. Il nous apprend la résilience, la patience et nous force à trouver le courage. L’Ecosse est le pays parfait pour affronter la nature, surtout en hiver. Mais finalement, s’il y a bien une chose à retenir, c’est qu’on y est jamais seul(e). Malgré toutes les galères que j’ai pu affronter, il n’y a pas une fois ou on a refuser de m’aider. Au milieu des tempêtes, étrangement, je me suis sentie en parfaite sécurité. Ce voyage aura été une expérience inoubliable, je souhaite que chacun puisse la vivre un jour.
Craig (et Lorna que je n’ai pas rencontré mais dont j’ai largement entendu parler) s’est rendu disponible durant tout le voyage pour s’assurer que tout se passait bien et me conseiller les endroits de l’Écosse a ne surtout pas manquer. Il a été « la tour de contrôle » de ce périple (selon ses propres mots). Même à plusieurs kilomètres de Glasgow, Mindy et moi étions sous sa bonne étoile. Je doute qu’il existe de nombreux professionnels qui prennent autant de temps avant, pendant et après le voyage pour s’inquiéter de votre périple et du fait que vous alliez bien. Je te l’ai déjà dit, mais je le redis encore : merci Craig, merci Lorna 😁

“My boyfriend and I rented Mork for 9 days to see Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, the Isle of Skye and the NC500. We were complete newbies to the van life but from the day we booked, Craig was super friendly and more than happy to help. No question was too silly and we were able to contact Craig throughout the whole trip. He also provided excellent tips of where to go (turns out John o'Groats really is just a post).
Mork was the perfect size for a first-timeon van driver whilst also being able to live inside comfortably. Craig provided everything we could've needed, including bedding, a table and chairs for outside and a starter pack of cleaning products, tea and coffee (the smoothest coffee we've ever made!) We definitely want to hire from Freedom Campervans again, maybe for a trip to Harris. Thanks for everything mission control, over :)”

Tout c est super bien passé. Craig est super sympa et le van est nickel! Craig nous a donner des bons conseils avant partir: lieux où aller (et où pas aller), astuces pour la route et conduite à droite, etc.... le van est très bien et très practique. Il y a un four que nous n avons pas utiliser mais que peut rendre service. Craig nous a donner au début un petit kit avec ouil, sel, papier toilette! Thé, café, qui a été vraiment utile. Et on plus l Écosse est magnifique!!!
Todo fenomenal! Craig es muy amable i la furgoneta está perfecta! Craig nos dio muy buenos consejos antes de irnos: sitios donde ir y donde no ir, truquillos para la conducción, etc.... También nos dio un kit con café, aceite, té, papel etc .... muy útil si solo vas unos días. Escocía es fantástico! Un viaje 10!

La experiencia ha sido perfecta. La furgoneta estaba nueva, tal y como aparecia en las fotos, y Craig ha estado siempre atento y muy comunicativo en todo momento. Nos ha dado todas las facilidades tanto el dia de llegada como el de salida, algo que se agradece cuando vas cargado con todo el equipaje. Ha sido nuestro primer viaje alquilando una camper, y fue todo perfecto. Absolutamente recomendable.

Tout est fait pour que la location se déroule parfaitement! Craig est très clair dans les renseignements et les possibilités offertes.
L'écosse est faite pour réaliser un superbe voayge en Van. Il est possible de trouver un endroit pour passer la nuit avec une incroyable vue en se levant!!! Pas besoin de faire sècher la tente après une nuit de bivouac.
Craig est très disponible tout au long de votre séjour, en cas de problème mais aussi en cas de conseil sur votre roadtrip. Le van est assez spacieux pour 3 adultes et possède tous les équipeents nécessaire pour avoir un séjour très agréable.

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable sur l’île de Skye à bord du van de Craig. Le van est très confortable, fonctionnel et maniable. Nous avons pu profiter de la cuisine et du toît relevable pour nous préparer de bons petits repas notamment les jours de pluie! En couple ou même avec des enfants, il est spacieux et idéal pour profiter des magnifiques paysages écossais! En plus de cela, Craig, le propriétaire, était top, très sympathique et à l’écoute.

Craig est un loueur très sérieux et disponible. Super accueil, il est venu nous chercher à l aéroport. Le van est très récent et très bien équipé. Un kit de départ était fourni (café thé liquide vaisselle huile sel poivre PQ..) ainsi que tout le nécessaire pour dormir. Le van est idéal pour les petites routes d Ecosse, nous avons campé en pleine nature pendant 2 semaines. Craig est resté joignable pendant toute la durée du séjour au cas où, c’est rassurant. Tout s’est bien passé et on veut retourner visiter ce beau pays.

Ich hatte für 4 Nächte das Vergnügen, einen Camper von Craig zu haben. Da ich schon woanders auf der Welt Camper gemietet habe, habe ich ein bisschen Erfahrung. Als erstes: Craig ist der Hammer! Ein sehr netter und höflicher Mensch. Er wird ehrlich zu euch sein, bitte seid ehrlich zu ihm. Und bereitet euch schon mal auf viel Lachen vor. Für 15£ holt er euch direkt vom GLA Flughafen ab. Das ist unbedingt zu empfehlen, da ein Taxi viel mehr kostet und Bus viel länger dauert. Der Camper selber ist so gut wie neu und wird wohl regelmäßig ersetzt. Es ist ein VW T6 Diesel Transporter, der professionell zum Camper umgebaut wurde. Motor ist stark genug und gibt sich mit mageren 7.5 Liter Diesel zufrieden. Das untere Bett ist sehr bequem, das obere haben wir nicht getestet. Wir hatten Temperaturen so um 10 Grad und haben keine Heizung gebraucht, denn das Bettzeug (Daune!!) War der Hammer. Der Transporter ist schmal genug um auch auf Single lane roads zu bestehen, allerdings ist der Linksverkehr immer noch gewöhnungsbedürftig. Für Fragen dürft ihr mir gerne eine Nachricht schicken. I booked Craig’s campervan for a tour of the north if Scotland with my son. The van was absolutely perfect - great to drive and it had everything we needed for our week-long holiday. Craig has included some thoughtful touches and was easy to contact throughout our trip. This was such a memorable trip and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Craig and his Campervan to anyone considering this type of trip. Five stars from me and my son!!

Ne cherchez plus si vous voulez louer un camper van c est ici ! Nous avons loué un van pour 2adultes et deux enfants .Craig est venue nous recuperer a la gare routiere tout sourir super sympas ,il nous a fourni un kit de depart incluant thé cafe huile liquide vaisselle sucre sel poivre sacs poubelle pq sopalin éponge .....bref le top . Duvets coussins et couette inclus ,toujours dispo et a l ecoute il est de bons conseils si besoin .
je vous recommande ses services a un prix plus que raisonnable pour le service et le serieux .

Ce trip d'une semaine en Ecosse en compagnie de mon fils était une expérience formidable !
Le Van est une solution idéale pour découvrir les paysages fantastiques des Highlands et accéder aux endroits les plus reculés.
Nous avons alterné les spots en "sauvage" et les campings pour avoir une douche chaude de temps en temps.
Craig a toujours été disponible rapidement pour répondre à nos questions, le Van est dans un état parfait.

Craig and his van were absolutely faultless. As well as being a super helpful, and thoughtful host/communicator, the van was as stated (if not better) and we had the best nights sleep in a camper that we've ever had, very comfortable. We'll be back.

The whole experience was spot on. Craig was absolutely bang on with his preparation and his support; he made himself available for us to contact him when ever we needed (which we didn't because the van was mint). We had an amazing three days in the highlands made all the more fun and flexible with the VW camper.
Craig is a really nice bloke who goes above and beyond. We're already planning our next trip and we'll be in touch wth Craig as we look for a camper to rent.

Wow, what an experience. Upon arrival at Freedom Campervans me and my partner were welcomed by Craig, got the paperwork sorted and then on to the van. Craig gave us a thorough familiarisation on the equipment, bed, roof and the do’s and don’ts at campsites. We drove the whole of the West coast of Scotland, heading up to John o Groats and back down the East coast. The van never missed a beat and it was great to just be able to head to a camp site or park up and enjoy the views while having the comforts of home on 4 wheels. Craig was on call if there was any dramas with the van, knowledge of locations and routes we could take. Over all a very good experience with Freedom Campervans, would definitely take the van out again and we would highly recommend Craig’s services.

La nostra experiència amb la Mindy, una de les furgonetes de Freeedom Campervans, va ser immillorable! En Craig va tenir una atenció excel·lent, tan abans del viatge com durant i també després, donant-nos consells pels nostres últims dies a Escòcia, ja sense la Mindy. Ens va ajudar en tots els nostres dubtes, va tenir paciència amb el nostre anglès limitat, i ens va preparar tot el que podiem necessitar durant el viatge. Es nota la seva exèriència en viatges en furgoneta, ja que va pensar en detalls que nosaltres ni tan sols havíem caigut.
Durant el viatge, ens va estar contactant per saber com anàvem i també per advertir-nos sobre la meterologia que ens podia afectar en el nostre trajecte. La Mindy va ser una perfecta companya de viatge, té tot el que vam poder necessitar en la nostra aventura d'una setmana pels Highlands. En el nostre cas, erem tres amigues i vam anar molt còmodes tan a l'hora de viatjar com a l'hora de dormir i fer vida a la furgoneta.
Estem molt agraides d'aquesta experiència i segur que repetirem!
